Ingredients

  • 20 baby potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 green chillies

  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Method

  1. Wash the baby potatoes and pressure cook them for 2 whistles. Once they are cooked, allow them to cool down and then peel the skin off.
  2. Grind the onions, tomatoes, and green chillies into a smooth paste.
  3. In a frying pan, heat the oil and add cumin seeds.
  4. Once the cumin seeds start to splutter, add the ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  5. Add the onion tomato paste and saute for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.
  6. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pan and mix well. Saute for another 2 minutes.
  7. Add the curd and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
  8. Add the cooked potatoes to the pan and mix well.
  9. Add garam masala powder, kasuri methi, and water as required. Mix well and cover the pan with a lid.
  10. Cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the gravy has thickened.
  11. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spice level according to your taste.
  • If you don't have kasuri methi, you can use dried fenugreek leaves instead.
  • You can also add some cream to the gravy to make it richer and creamier.
