- 1 sleeve of saltine crackers
- 1 cup of unsalted butter
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and continue stirring for 3 minutes.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
- Let sit for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to melt, then spread it evenly over the caramel layer.

Notes
